The Simplicity Performance Adjustable Base is in Leggett & Platt's new collection, Performance Model Adjustable Bases. This is an upgrade from the Simplicity Adjustable Base which is now in the L&P Classic Collection.
The Simplicity Performance and the Simplicity Classic have most features in common, but the upgrade brings a few differences. The two models both have head and foot articulation with a wide range of possible positions. They are each powered by pair of Whisper Quiet motors with a lifting capacity of 550 pounds. Both of these adjustable beds have the Free-Fall Design safety feature which lowers the bed by gravity.
The Classic and Performance models each have a wireless remote with back-lit keys and a Flat button. The Simplicity Classic has one programmable/customizable position; the Simplicity Performance has two.
Both the Simplicity Performance and the Simplicity Classic have a massage. The older model has this only for the back, but the latter has a dual full-body wave massage.
The Classic and the Performance Simplicity adjustable bases have legs with dual locking casters. On the Simplcity Classic the legs have height options, while the Simplicity Perfomance has 4" legs.
The cover of the older model is white. The newer model has gray patterned upholstery fabric. This neutral tone is compatible with most room decors and bedding colors, not being as stark a contrast as white.
Both Simplicity models are compatible with a wide range of mattresses, such as memory foam mattresses, innerspring mattresses, airbeds and latex mattresses. The retainer bar at the foot of the bed keeps the mattress in place while the base is being articulated.
The original Leggett and Platt Simplicity was designed to fit within existing bed frames. The Performance Model Simplicity can do that, but does have headboard bracket kits available so it can stand alone.
The Simplicity Performance Adjustable Base is covered by Leggett & Platt's 20-year Limited Warranty. This is a 1-3-20 staged plan: full coverage for the first year, limited coverage for the next two years, and prorated limited coverage for the remaining years.
