GhostBed is the latest offering from Nature's Sleep, a Plantation, Florida manufacturer of memory foam mattresses. It is also the company's entry into the mattress-in-a-box market. Sold only online and shipped directly from the manufacturer, these beds cost much less than the same product would displayed and delivered from a local mattress store.
The GhostBed can best be described as a latex-memory foam hybrid. Like a latex mattress, it has a 1½" top layer of aerated latex foam. Latex is best known for is resilience (bounce). Otherwise known as foam rubber, it does not envelop the sleeper, It recovers more quickly than memory foam, letting the sleeper move more easily. Aerated latex is also much cooler than memory foam. Putting it on top insulates the memory foam so it can not build up as much heat.
The second layer from the top of the GhostBed is 2" of memory foam infused with gel. Memory foam was developed for pressure relief and even support. This memory foam has a large cell size for better cooling. The gel is for cooling, but it also enhances support.
The 7½" support core is high density polyurethane foam. The support of this base layer keeps the memory foam and latex from over-flexing, making them last longer. It also provides underlying support for the sleepers.
The GhostBed comes with a 101-night sleep trial and a 20-year waranty.
