Sealy Posturepedic Preferred series Stonesedge Firm

The Sealy Posturepedic Preferred series Stonesedge Firm mattress is a slightly firm mattress with both quality and value built in. The PostureTech Coil system, rayon FlameGuard quilted top, and X3 SuperSoft zoned inlay all carry over from the lower models, but in this mattress you pick up a total of 2.75 inches of comfort foam plus the zoned X3 SuperSoft layer. This gives you a firm feel, a softer initial feel, and a great level of support. The price stays comparable to the lower models of the Sealy Posturepedic Preferred series beds. You can expect to hit the middle of the second price range for a queen size, coming in under $800 for the set.

Overall, you can expect the Sealy Posturepedic Stonesedge Firm to feel much like the Eaglewood Plush mattress. The additional foam does give a softer feel when you push your hand in or first lie down, but the profile of the mattress does not allow for multiple thick layers of foam. This means your body is still mostly supported by the springs. The foam layers of the mattress are only there to broaden any pressure points and support only the lightest parts of your body (think hands, feet, and head).

I cannot say enough how important the overall composition of the mattress is. If you lay a piece of soft foam down on a concrete floor, you may have something you can sleep on but it would not be comfortable or accurately supportive. The Preferred Posturepedic line from Sealy also knows this, and uses tried and true components and orthopedically designed springs for maximum comfort. UniCased sides, X3 zoned support, and all of the other Preferred features are what truly makes this bed a Sealy.

Update
