The Stonesedge Plush mattress from the Sealy Posturepedic Preferred series of beds is a generally plush mattress initially with a firm PostureCoil support base. The Stonesedge Plush is slightly softer than the middle of the scale and still incorporates all of the features of the Preferred line. Sealy accomplishes the softer feel by using 2 inches of convoluted "eggcrate" foam (peak to base thickness) and another 2 inches of SuperSoft foam. Sandwiched between these layers is the X3 zoned inlay with a higher density foam in the hip area of the bed. When considering this mattress, you should make sure to test it for more than 5 minutes in the store. The reason this is important is that you could be fooled into a soft initial feel if you do not give your body a little bit of time to acclimate to the sleep surface. You have felt this before, anytime you go to a convention, movie theater, or concert: The seats there never feel noticeable when you first sit down but after a couple of hours you have developed some aches. Make sure you are comfortable for more than just a few minutes before you spend up to $800 for a queen size. |
