Sleep Number Memory Foam mLE

The Sleep Number Memory Foam mLE is made by Select Comfort and sold through their stores, most of which are located in malls across the country. The mLE is a Limited Edition model, made from time-to-time in limited numbers for promotionals.

Like other Sleep Number models, the mLE is an adjustable air bed. Support is provided by cells filled with air, and users select the firmness level by adjusting the pressure of the air in the cells.

This model is in Sleep Number's Memory Foam Series. These beds feature a comfort layer of visco-elastic memory foam and a layer of support foam to provide a "cushy" feel which conforms itself to the sleeper's body. This is not just for the feel, but to relieve pressure points, those sore spots which develop when only a few parts of the body bear all the weight when lying down. It is also to help keep the spine in line for better back health. The height of memory foam in the mLE is 3", and the support layer is 2" thick.

The mLE features Sleep Number's DualAir™ technology (except in twin sizes). Each side of the bed has its own air chamber, and the air pressure on each side is controlled independently. This means that each sleeper can select his or her own comfort level (aka "Sleep Number"). Together, the air chambers and the comfort layers add up to about 13 inches.

The Sleep Number Memory Foam mLE is covered with a knit rayon-polyester fabric. Together, the rayon and the polyester moderate the temperature by absorbing excess heat. This fabric is also made to be anti-microbial for freshness and health.

The Sleep Number Memory Foam mLE air bed is controlled by a hand-held wireless remote. It has a range of numbers corresponding to the comfort levels of air pressure. If you know your "sleep number," all you need to do is select that number on the remote.

Like all Sleep Number beds, the Memory Foam mLE will fit any standard bed frame. However, Sleep Number also sells bed frames with optional headboards and legs of different lengths, including rolling legs. A fully-supportive foundation--not a box spring--is required for an air bed such as the mLE. The Sleep Number® Bed Modular Base is designed especially for air beds. Also available for the Memory Foam mLE are the Sleep Number® Beds Flex Fit Adjustable Bases.

A final note: The closest model to the Memory Foam mLE is the m9. Basically, the differnces between the two models are the kind of foam in the support layer and the technology in the remote. In these areas, the m9 is the more advanced model.

The Sleep Number Memory Foam mLE air bed by Select Comfort comes with a 100-night sleep trial and a 25-year limited warranty. This warranty requires use of a proper foundation. It also requires that the mattress be kept in a sanitary condition.
