Agility Collection

The Agility Collection by Therapedic is made of hybrid mattresses featuring a recent development in innersprings, mini-micro-coils. In this new development by coil manufacturers, innerspring layers contain coils as short as 2" (or even shorter). Whether pocketed or not, these new coil sheets with coil counts in the thousands are found in more than the base of the mattress. And some mattresses have several micro-coil layers. Therapedic introduced the Agility Collection in Summer 2012. Trade articles on mini-coils, micro-coils and mini-micro-coils say that besides support, they are also used for ventilation/cooling, surface smoothing, firmness adjustment, and other functions.

In the Therapedic Agility Collection, mini-micro-coils are encased in 3-way stretch fabric to permit a wide range of motion in adjusting to the sleepers. It is this agile adjustment which gives this collection its name. In most hybrids, the innersprings provide the primary support. In three of the Agility models—Dash, Tango, Freestyle—this support is found in a 7" high-density foam core. The high-end Crossover has a 4" high innerspring core with a coil count of 682.

Individual models have different configurations above the support core:
* The 11.5" Dash uses a 1.5" pocketed micro-coil "Posturefil" layer between 2" of gel memory foam and 1" of 2.7 wt. polyurethane foam.
* At 12.5", Tango uses both the "Posturefil" and a .75" layer of HD mini-micro-coils, with the gel memory foam between and the polyurethane on top.
* The Freestyle, 14.5" high, adds latex. It has two layers each of the mini-micro-coils and the "Posturefil" micro-coils. Like Tango, the gel memory foam is between the two kind of small coils. But the top layer is latex foam with an ILD of 19.
* Crossover, the 15" top-of-the-line in the Agility Collection, has the 4" innerspring core of wrapped coils bolstered by 2.5" foam rails. This coil core rests on a 2.5" foam base and is topped with 1" of 1.4 weight foam.
