Beds.org was founded by a group of doctors who shared the common goal bringing to the public accurate information how to get better sleep through choosing the correct bed. Our medical team has tapped into their knowledge of sleep and orthopedic support for the body and combined this vast amounts of hours spent combing through the available literature to bring you the most accurate and useful articles on everything from choosing the best bed to finding the best place to sleep when you are traveling. However, our medical team wanted to go a step further and give you real-life objective information about specific mattresses in which the results could not be subjectively skewed. We have been able to accomplish though utilization of a pressure mapping technology by Tekscan, Inc. and coming up with a system, whereby we can reproduce these results with complete precision for comparison purposes. Unfortunately, there are thousands of different beds available and we realize that it would take a small army to evaluate them all. Therefore, our solution has been to let all the various bedding manufactures know that we can evaluate their beds with a clear cut objective system and let each manufacturer who believes that their beds will pass our objective criteria submit their mattress to our medical team for evaluation. Fortunately, many manufacturers have expressed interest and we anticipate many more mattress evaluations to come in the near future.
