Night Rider Series

The Night Rider Series of adjustable beds for healthcare has five models: Night Rider, Night Rider HD, Night Rider SHD, Hospital Grade Night Rider HD and Hospital Grade Night Rider SHD. All of these are listed by Transfer Master under Hospital Beds. As can be seen by the names, there are two sets of models, one for care center or home use, the other meeting standards for hospital use. There are also three grades according to the load the bed can handle.

The Night Rider has a bed height of 12" from floor to deck, 3" lower than the top of a standard 9" box spring on a 6" high steel bed frame. The other models have a 13½" height. Night Rider beds with the 3 Function Package have hi-low adjustablilty. The entire bed can be raised 10" higher.

The low-end Night Rider model has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds. The weight capacity is 600 lbs. for HD models and 750 lbs. for SHD models.

Although buyers of Night Rider beds can get their own mattresses, Transfer Master Products has six Specialty Mattress models for this adjustable bed series. These include four PressureGuard air beds, the laminated foam Ascent I, and the memory foam mattress SoftTouch.

For the home partners of persons using healthcare beds in the Night Rider Series, Transfer Master has the Companion beds. The Twin Super Long size New Companion can be paired with the same size Night Rider bed to make a Dual King. Companion HD and Companion SHD beds can be paired with the corresponding HD and SHD Night Rider Series and New Valiant Series beds. This allows two partners to share a bed, though one of them is a patient. The patient's side of the bed can be a hi-low model, while their partner's side is the less expensive one-height bed.

Night Riders Series beds have a number of size options based on the choice of widths and lengths. Available widths are 38, 53 and 60 inches, and lengths are 80 and 84 inches. 38" and 53" wide beds can be either 80" or 84" long, while the 60" wide bed is 84" long.

Floor Hugger Remote (oblique)

The robust motors appropriate for the weight capacity are controlled by a wired hand-held remote. These are ECU (Electronic Control Unit) compatible, meaning that they can be controlled wirelessly with the ECU device. Some ECU models even respond to voice commands.

The warranty for Night Rider Series beds is not specifically stated, but other beds of this type are covered for one year. These adjustable beds are sold through several dealers of health-care products.
