| The Modern bed from Angelbeds, available online at angelbeds.com, is a bed designed after the most popular and repeated design in memory foam. The Modern design features a ventilated layer which is designed to let air pass through the bed. The theory behind this principal is to provide a cooler sleep surface. Otherwise, there is a 5.3lb memory foam layer and a base layer as well. We did notice, in shopping information on AngelBeds website, that there were a few discrepancies. One of which was in regards to the ventilated layer. One page on the site states that it is the base layer that is ventilated, and another stated there is a separate layer which is ventilated. Another discrepancy found is in regards to the trial period which we’ll cover in a minute. The majority of the information on the website leads us to believe that the 5.3lb memory foam layer is about 3 inches thick, and that there is an additional layer which is ventilated via channels which cross the bed. The third layer is the thick base foam. This totals to a 9 inch mattress thickness. With this construction, the feel overall should be firm. The warranty period provided by AngelBeds is 20 years, with only 10 years at full replacement value. The remaining 10 years is prorated. With a foundation, when purchased directly through Angelbeds.com, you would expect about $1400 which includes delivery. One of the biggest concerns we always have with a bed purchase is the trial and warranty periods and coverage. Since in this case you would literally be buying a bed without the opportunity to test it first, the trail period is paramount. At one location on the website, the manufacturer requests a 14 day test period, and advised there is a 30 night return period with free return shipping and no restocking fee. Another location on the website points to a 90 night trial. While the period from day 31 to day 90 may just simply require you to pay the return shipping or a restocking fee, some clarification on this issue is important before purchasing what appears to be a decent bed set. |
