| The Vienna bed from Bragada is the top of the Cashmere collection, and still uses the cashmere cover with natural fiber fill. The Bragada Max-EDGE returns for this bed, and all of the other features of the Bragada Westbrook as well. What appears for the first time on the Vienna is the addition of a layer of more dense memory foam at the top of the euro-top layer. The 8lb memory foam is about 1 inch thick, and offers a new overall feel to the Bragada line. The 8lb memory foam, called Bragada CoolTemp-HD, should yield a slightly softer initial and overall feel to the Vienna. Until a couple of years ago, memory foam’s firmness was tied almost directly to its density, measured in pounds-per-cubic-foot. The correct scale by which firmness is measured is called ILD. ILD is simply the number of pounds required to compress the foam to only ¼ of its original thickness. It is possible, and in this case a fact, that higher density memory foam can actually feel softer. Also, memory foam has traditionally been known to be temperature sensitive if rated at 5lbs or above in density. HD memory foam may not be temperature sensitive depending on other factors, even though it is more dense than the 5.3lb density. With the advancement of the HD memory foam at the surface, the overall feel of the Bragada Vienna should be almost plush. You will definitely feel a firm supportive structure, but a little less so than on the models below this one. The Bragada Max-EDGE support around the perimeter of the bed is a helpful benefit, as it may prevent roll-off near the sides and will strengthen the edge of the bed where you may sit. All in all, at a price under $1500 for a queen set, the Bragada Vienna seems like a sound buy in the plush category. |
