Jamison English Garden

Springtime is when gardens begin to bloom, with the color and fragrance of flowers continuing through the summer. So it was in the Spring of 2013 that Jamison Bedding introduced its English Garden collection of mattresses. The inspiration for these designs is the blend of natural beauty and form with symmetry and order which is exhibited in an English Garden.

A key feature for this collection is the Palladian Smart CoilŽ technology. According to Jamison, "Using modern technology the Jamison tried and true Bonnell unit is made with 15-20% more steel than our competitors' similar coil counts offerings and features more stability and less noise for a great night's sleep." A Bonnell coil is an hourglass shaped coil made of steel wire which has been knotted (the end of the wire wrapped around the wire where it meets to form a circle). Several of these linked together form a Bonnell unit. The intent is to provide stability and conformability.

In the Palladian system, the coils are tied to each other in their middles, allowing the tops and bottoms to move independently. The term "Palladian" used by Jamison for this configuration of Bonnell coils probably refers to Greek Classical architecture used in England in the 1700's when the classic English gardens were established.

The signature feature of the Jamison English Garden beds is the use of English floral designs in the cover fabrics. These fabrics are infused with aloe vera gel to make them softer and soothing (aloe is used in skin lotions and ointments to promote healing). The covers of the mattresses are quilted for comfort as well as to prevent shifting of comfort materials in the top layer.

Where the 17 models (in 8 series) differ is the compositions of the comfort layers, with a variety of paddings and foams. The foams differ in type, density, firmness, thickness, and structural features (such as venting).

Jamison offers with each of these English Garden mattresses its TruBalanceŽ foundation, the standard for all Jamison bed sets. The TruBalance is fashioned from Canadian timber and upholtered with quilted fabrics.

The eight series (flower names) with their models (comfort types) are Azalea (Euro Top Plush), Camellia (Euro Top Plush), Foxglove (Euro Top Medium Plush, Plush, Firm Firm), Hydrangea (Medium Plush, Euro Top Plush), Iris (Medium, Euro Top Medium Plush), Lily (Medium, Euro Top Medium Plush), Sunflower (Euro Top Plush, Firm, Plush Plush), and Wisteria (Medium Plush, Euro Top Plush).
