King Koil iMattress Brand
The iMattress brand by King Koil consists of memory foam mattresses. King Koil says, "Memory foam as you have known it has been reinvented." According to the company, memory foam used in the iMattress collections combines conformability, support and breathablility. Their headline for this is "The Cooler Side of Sleep."

The development of visco-elastic memory foam from materials for cushioning astronauts at launch provided consumers with a firm yet conformable substance for seats and beds. However, memory foam has become notorious for heat retention, accumulating body heat of users until it becomes uncomfortably hot. Therefore, every manufacturer of memory foam products is continuing to develop ways of cooling products that utilize memory foam.

King Koil infuses open-cell memory foam with gel in a process they call iFusion. Gel (especially when microencapsulated) is widely used by makers of memory foam products as a heat sink to conduct body heat away from the sleeping surface to where it can be dissipated, while an open-cell structure allows air to filter through the foam, further cooling it. To the iFusion, King Koil adds Natural AirFlo™, a system of "cylindrical chamber cutouts" to enhance the flowing of air through the mattress.

The iMattress brand has three series of mattresses: G Series, Xs Series, and G Series Premium. The G Series is the original collection of iMattress models. The Xs Series is the iMattress "hybrid" line: the support core is innersprings. The G Series Premium is, well, premium. Its products have more of what the G Series mattresses have.

G Series - Basically cooler memory foam mattresses, the G Series beds feature King Koil's gel-infused memory foam to provide relief from pressure points while keeping the sleepers cool. This also utilizes the King Koil Natural AirFlo system, which the manufacturer claims increases the flow of air four times. In addition, the upper end G Series models use the King Koil "Slotex" latex foam for better conformability. Not only is Slotex breathable, it is touted as "hypo-allergenic."

Xs Series - King Koil calls its iMattress Xs Series "The mattress equivalent of a hybrid: it’s part specialty foam and part innerspring." According to them, it "offers the best of both worlds." King Koil boasts of these mattresses having motion reduction so that one sleeping partner does not disturb the other. And as to minimization of pressure point, the Xs Series has "Zoned Support." The foam-encased coils are distributed in five zones, not only to reduce motion transfer, but also to respond individually to different parts of the body. As part of this system, the innerspring coils are ecased individually. Around this all is the "Excellent Edge™" foam encasement edge support.

G Series Premium - This premium series has additional layers of the King Koil iFusion gel-infused memory foam. It also features the proprietary "GelResponse" gel-infused latex in both the G10 and G12 iMattresses. This GelResponse Latex has what King Koil calls "Frequency Waves™," a construction which is to stimulate air flow while reducing pressure. Like upper end G Series and Xs Series models, G Series Premium models use Slotex.

Another added feature of the G Series Premium iMattress models by King Koil is the use of Hydra-Performa fibers in the cover material to wick moisture away from the sleepers. King Koil claims that this cover material "dries faster than a traditional mattress while staying soft, durable and comfortable."

According to mattress industry news sources, King Koil will be releasing an iMattress2 lineup sometime in the near future.

Although a wooden, full-support foundation is preferred for foam mattreses, the iMattress brand mattresses are compatible with adjustable beds.
