| An ultra plush mattress is intended to remove any feeling that you have on the bed which is not purely comfort. Starting with a latex sleep set is a great first step, since there are no springs or metal at all which can easily create pressure points. Just having a pure foam mattress does not really mean that you will have an ultra plush bed either. There are many types of foam which could be user, ranging in firmness from firm as Styrofoam to soft as warm butter. The Nature’s Rest Progeny series of beds offers us a mattress featuring multiple layers of soft latex foam, a euro-top feature, and a supple cover design to create a soft sleep surface. The Nature’s Rest Progeny ultra plush mattresses have a unique common thread with all Nature’s Rest mattresses in the Body Curve topper system. This system, which does not always use the same grades of latex foam, will always use a similar alternating pattern to allow extra support in some areas and extra comfort in others. The Joma wool blended covers also help to add a little bit of a plush feel, using a specialized crimping process during the treatment of the wool which is claimed to add volume and durability to the wool itself. The ultra plush example we evaluated was a little over 16 inches thick, and is all foam. There are no ‘filler’ layers. The downside that we see in regards to a pure foam bed is the cost. Since latex foam literally fills every cubic inch of the Progeny ultra plush beds from Nature’s Rest, there is a lot of material to pay for. The fact that the zoned, interlocking, and bulk amounts of foam used are a very complex configuration also will add to the final price of the set. From what we see, a typical starting point for an ultra plush Progeny bed set would be about $3200.00 including foundation. The 20 year warranty is included at no additional cost. The sleep trial you will have depends on the retailer from where you purchase the set. |
