Elite Kessner Firm

The Kessner Firm and the Kessner Plush are the lowest models, both in height and in price, in the SmartSurface Elite Collection under the Perfect Sleeper brand by Serta. They are also simpler than the other models, such as the Kessner Super Pillow Top. The Kessner Firm has the same SmartSurface quilted cover and 814 coil count Free Flex Innerspring as the other models in the SmartSurface Elite Collection. Where the difference is found is in the middle.

The support system of the Kessner Firm lies in the Free Flex continuous coil innerspring. This was developed from the Continuous Support used in the Perfect Sleeper Essentials Collection. The coils in a row, made from one wire, have a more individualized response to sleepers' body weight and shapes, for more conformity and pressure relief. The orientation of the coils from the head to the foot of the mattress limits transfer of motion between sides of the bed, thus reducing partner disturbance.


Free Flex Innerspring Custom Support Design
The center third of the innerspring features Custom Support Design. This middle section has 25% more support than the rest of the mattress. Since this is where most of the body weight is, this is where the additional support is needed.

The Free Flex Innerspring is paired with the Total Edge foam encasement. Coupled with the perimeter rods, which are part of the innerspring, this provides edge support for the sleeping surface. The benefits of this are use of the entire sleeping surface, no roll-offs, and stability of the edge.

SmartSurface Elite Technology is featured at the top of the Kessner Firm mattress. FireBlocker fiber is a flame retardant designed to meet federal bedding fire safety standards. The Body Loft quilting fibers are anti-microbial. they provide non-foam cushioning at the surface. Latex foam, which is resilient, is infused with Serta's MicroSupport Gel. Then a half-inch of PillowSoft foam makes the quilt softer, even with overall mattress firmness.

The top upholstery of the Kessner Firm has two foam layers and the Insulator Pad. The upper layer is Serta's Cool Twist Gel Memory Foam. Unlike other gel foams, this memory foam is infused with liquid gel. The gel adds to the support of the conforming foam while also acting as a heat sink.

The lower layer is 2" of Serta Support Foam, which determines the mattress's firm comfort level. The Insulator Pad keeps the foam and the coils from interfering with each other.

Two Serta foundations are compatible with the SmartSurface Elite Kessner Firm: the StabL-Base, a platform, and Motion Essentials, an adjustable bed.

The StabL-Base is an advanced design platform. The base frame of wood and the steel top are connected by V-shaped shock-absorbing supports. The double-beam design adds to motion separation while ensuring consistent support for larger size mattresses.

The Motion Essentials Adjustable Base is made and warrantied by Ergomotion. It can be adjusted to a range of positions for the comfort of the sleepers.
