| The Sealy Posturepedic SpringFree Latex Whistlewood Euro-Top Plush is a very soft, somewhat springy bed. The extra thick 15.5 inch profile (including the pillowtop) means there is more room to pack in the features. Some of those features are standard and convoluted SuperSoft SealyFoam, latex foam (also standard and convoluted in this mattress), and the Sealy SmartLatex core foam. The SpringFree Whistlewood Euro-Top Plush latex mattress from Sealy Posturepedic features the SamrtLatex core system. The SamrtLatex is a talalay latex design which uses a vacuum forming process and incorporates hundreds of breathable holes in the latex from top to bottom to allow the core to compress in and down. If you picture a balloon being pressed from the top, the sides and bottom will bulge. The SmartLatex core will bulge into the holes, which will mean a more uniform sleeping surface since the middle of the bed will not have to displace foam to each side. The overall feel of the Whistlewood Springfree Latex Euro-Top Plush mattress will be abundantly plush. Since this is a very plush mattress, you might also consider the MeadowCrest (similar to the Whistlewood, but without the pillowtop layer) for a slightly firmer feel, or the Brasswood for a noticeably firmer feel overall. It should be noted that typically mattresses with this type of composition and super-plush feel usually are found only in the top price bracket, while the Whistlewood Euro-Top Plush can be found in the sub-$2500 range fairly easily. |
