| The Simmons Beautyrest NxG 250 Luxury Firm mattress builds on the entry-level NxG 100 series by adding more NxG memory foam. Simmons is a world leader in bedding designs, and the Beautyrest NxG 250 looks like it should live up to that reputation. The NxG series of Beautyrest beds from Simmons uses "Next Generation" memory foam to help reduce pressure points and provide a more comfortable sleep surface. The NxG 250 uses a total of 2.5 inches of memory foam in the upper layers to provide a total-body-conforming sensation and an additional 1.5 inches of polyurethane foam to give you a firm base and plush initial feel. The Super Pocketed Coil spring system helps reduce transferred motion and further reduce pressure points. You also get the 3 inch Encased Edge system which provides a 360 degree side support and bolstering effect. As with other NxG models, Simmons recommends the Triton foundation, which has a non-yielding strut design for maximum weight bearing and longevity. You also get the high coil count, almost 1000 individually pocketed coils on the queen size bed, which is nearly double what some other manufacturers use! What does seem to be a trend in the NxG line of mattresses from Simmons Beautyrest is a higher than average price for this level of mattress. With Queen sizes possibly exceeding $2000 for the set, your sheets and pockets may need to be deep. |
