Simmons Beautyrest NuFlex Foundation
The Simmons Beautyrest NuFlex Foundation is specifically designed for the ComforPedic and other Beautyrest mattresses. NuFlex is an adjustable bed; both the head and the feet can be elevated. Originally engineered for therapeutic reasons, adjustable beds are now used for more than comfortable and healthful sleep. The Beautyrest NuFlex is also used for convenience, for watching videos and TV, for reading, visiting, and using a laptop or tablet. Simmons Beautyrest categorizes the functions of the NuFlex Foundation as Sleep Soundly, Work Easily, and Relax Comfortably.
Sleep Soundly
According to Simmons, the user can adjust the Beautyrest NuFlex Foundation to the best elevation of the head and feet to provide relief from pressure and to improve breathing. They say in their brochure, "There are side sleepers and back sleepers. But now you can be a knees-slightly-elevated sleeper. Or a head-above-your-feet sleeper. Of course, perfectly flat works well, too." The maximum elevation of the head is 60° and of the foot 45°. Among the preset positions is Zero Gravity, in which the feet are higher than the heart. This not only promotes better circulation with less stress on the heart, according to Beautyrest, but it also eases pain in the lower back.
Work Easily
Simmons Beautyrest advertises the advantages of the NuFlex Foundation as a work station for those who work from home or bring work home. The 60° elevation of the head provides a normal sitting position for writing, reading and working on a laptop or tablet. The knees can be raised just enough to make this more comfortable and practical. But this is not all. The NuFlex also has outlets for connecting devices and side pockets to hold books, paper, pens, accessories, etc. This turns the bedroom or one-room apartment into an office.
Relax Comfortably
Times have changed with the technology, and beds have changed, too. Beautyrest says, "What was unthinkable to your parents' generation is the norm now – a TV in your bedroom. It's time to raise your bed to the proper viewing level." There is, of course, more than TV viewing for relaxing on a bed with the Beautyrest NuFlex Foundation. There are several positions - and ones you can configure - for reading, talking on the phone, or just taking it easy. The NuFlex also has a massage with zoned settings and a timer. And the remote is backlit for easy use, even at night, has preset positions, and is programmable (you can save your favorite settings).
Among other features are the wall-saving design, which not only protects the walls, but keeps the user within reach of the nightstand, the "Free Motion" design to use gravity to lower the base, and a foam surround for safety while operating. Besides these, the frame is upholstered and has furniture styled legs (with optional casters) for compatiblity with the other bedroom furnishings. The sizes listed as available on the Simmons Beautyrest are Twin-long, Queen, and California Split King. The Twin-long has a lifting capacity of 520 pounds, the Queen 650, and the Cal Split King 520 on each side.
