The higher of the two current adjustable beds sold by Diamond Mattress is the Refuge Adjustable Lifestyle Base. The other model is the Activate Adjustable Lifestyle Base. This bed is available in five sizes: Twin XL, Full XL, Queen, Eastern King, California King. Two Twin XL beds can be linked for a Split King. Other sizes can be made on request.
The Refuge articulates both head and feet, with a virtually limitless number of positions within the ranges of elevation, from Flat up to about 65° for the head and about 45° for the feet. This provides positions for several purposes, from sleeping to sitting up for reading or using a laptop, even flat body with raised feet. The head and the foot can be articulated separately.
The Refuge Adjustable Lifestyle Base has the Wall Hugger feature. The deck glides back as the head is being raised to keep the user within reach of the bedside table or nightstand. This was first called a "wall-saver" feature, since the design and concept were adapted from reclining chairs which slid forward as they were extended to keep from banging the wall behind them.
The Refuge is powered by SilentDrive™ motors to raise the head and foot powerfully but quietly. A backup battery ensures a reserve of power for lowering the bed safely in case of an electrical outage. Also, this is designed to be a "low volatge" to use a minimum of power for operation.
The Refuge has a massage with a rolling pattern to ease muscles and reduce stress.
Functions of the Refuge Adjustable Lifestyle Base are controlled with a wireless hand-held remote. The remote is backlit. It has controls for both articulation and the massage. Preset positions include Flat and Zero G. The massage has three time selections of 10, 20 and 30 minutes, and the dual massage can be activated separatedly for the head (upper body) and the feet (lower body).
The Refuge Adjustable Lifestyle Base has Zero Clearance, which means it will fit within standard beds without the bedspring. Legs of different length allow the user to adjust the height of the adjustable base for the bedframe being used. 8" is the standard height of the deck from the floor.
Diamond Mattress covers the Refuge Adjustable Lifestyle Base with a 1-year full warranty and limited coverage for 2 years.
