In its revision of its mattress lineup for 2016, foam spring mattress company Dormeo North America (DNA) has not only dropped the original Octaspring series, added models to the Dolcé and Sérénité collections, and added the Classic Line; they also revised their foundations.
DNA now lists two foundations on their website for their mattresses, the Eternity Foundation and the Elite Base. But before we count these as Dormeo's only North American foundations, consider that as of this writing Dormeo is still working on the upgrading of their site. The two adjustable beds could reappear in the listings.
Also called the Elite Platform Storage Base, the Elite serves as the American version of the British-style divans (Venice, Siena, Tiffany) listed last year. Elite is a steel-framed platform bed with furniture grade particle board surface, ends and sides. Platform surfaces are among the ideal foundations for foam mattresses, including Dormeo's foam spring models, especially if the surface allows airflow.
It comes with two storage drawers underneath, and has the option of two more. These drawers have a capacity of 15 gallons each. This is compatible with the trend of under-the-bed storage for smaller living quarters.
The sides of the Elite Platform Storage Base are upholstered to match the mattresses. It has two warranties: 1-year on the fabric cover, and 10-years on the base itself.
