Flex-A-Bed Premier

Premier is the top model/series of adjustable beds made by Flex-A-Bed. The others are Hi-Low and Value-Flex. According to the manufacturer, "The Flex-A-Bed Premier sets the standard for comfort and convenience in an adjustable bed."

These adjustable beds are made to order with the customer's choice of available features, so this model is more like a series. Flex-A-Bed says, "This fully customizable bed can be designed and built in hundreds of configurations so that your specific needs are fulfilled." Therefore, the specifications listed in the table below are the standard ones. The Flex-A-Bed Premier has more features and options than the Value-Flex.

The first variable feature is the length. Depending on the size of the mattress, two or three lengths are available. 80" is standard, but 74" and 84" are optional. Height of the bed frame is also variable, with 13' from the floor as standard. Removing casters brings this down to 11", but leg extensions can add 2" to 7" in 1" increments.

The standard foundation height is 8", but a 4" foundation is optional. Side rails are available, but have to be used with the 4" foundation. The base is made of AdvanTech material. This engineered wood is moisture resistant and should not warp, break or squeak.

The articulated steel bed frame is powered by two Linak whisper-quiet motors. These are controlled by a wireless or wired one-touch remote. Head and foot can be raised or lowered separately. In dual sizes, each side is conrolled independently.

Among options is a dual timed massage.

An innerspring mattress is standard with the Flex-A-Bed Premier, and the standard height is 23". Options include other types of mattresses, such as mamory foam, latex, or innerspring with memory foam. The quilted polyester knit covers of the mattresses are made by Burlington Industries.

The base only can be ordered. An option for this is a telescoping "carton" which can be extended to fit other mattress sizes. Just be sure that your mattress is adjustable bed compatible.

The Flex-A-Bed Premier comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It is available through several retailers, including both furniture outlets and dealers of medical and home healthcare supplies and equipment.
