The Lifestyle Series Comfort Bases are adjustable beds designed and commissioned by Glideaway Bed Carriage Manufacturing Company in St. Louis, Missouri, a division of Fredman Brothers Furniture Company. The three original Lifestyle models, the ones currently listed and described, are Xplore, Navigate and Grand-Icon. At the 2015 Las Vegas Winter Market, Glideaway introduced four new models: Prelude, Elevate, Rhythm and Cascade. The latter two are FlexStyle adjustable bases. Prelude is the new entry-level offering, and Elevate the new top-end model.
All three of the current models have an up to 800-lb. lifting capacity. They are assembled in China, but use German-designed frames and German-made motors. They have a deck-on-deck design with recessed legs and Safety-Plus features such as pinch-free zones and Zero Pull Force for lowering the bed. All will fit in or on most bed frames or standard beds. Navigate and Grand-Icon have wireless remote controls and pre-programmed positions, while there are other features unique to the Grand. Leg options allow these beds to be made lower or higher. The remote of Xplore is wired. These adjustable bases are covered to coordinate with mattresses and room decor.
The Xplore Comfort Base is a head-only adjustable bed, a feature shared by the new Prelude. This makes the bed more affordable as well as simpler. This is suitable for those who want only to raise the head slightly for better breathing while sleeping or to raise it higher, up to 65°, for sitting up in bed. Several benefits are listed for head elevation, from breathing to digestion, countering gastric reflux and snoring, easing circulation and back stress, etc.
Both head and feet in the Navigate Comfort Base can be raised, to 65° for the head and 35° for the feet. This adjustable bed has two pre-programmed positions: Zero Gravity and Anti-Snore. The remote also has a one-touch Flat button. The two Twin XL sides of a Split King can be synced to operate as one.
The Grand Comfort Base is, until Elevate reaches the market, the top-of-the line Lifestyle Series Comfort Base. To the features of the Navigate it adds a pillow tilt for extra head support, programmable positions, power surge protection, emergency power down, and wall-hugging (up to 11"). It also has an under-the-bed LED night light and a charging station.
The main attraction of the Grand is the massage. The Total Body Vibration has four wave modes, four intensity levels, and three timer settings. All this is done with a single motor in the area of the middle back.
Accessories for the Glideaway Lifestyle Series adjustable beds include sync cable, headboard brackets, and retainer bar. Available are leg options. Each of the three models described here are coverd by 20-year warranties. For the Xplore it is Year 1: Full Coverage of Parts and Labor; and Years 2 through 20: Prorated Coverage of Parts Only (Non-Electrical). For Navigate and Grand, the coverage is Year 1: Full Coverage of Parts and Labor; Years 2 and 3: Full Coverage of Parts Only; and Years 4 through 20: Prorated Coverage of Parts Only (Non-Electrical).
