The Leggett & Platt Elite Adjustable Bed has the appearance of a box spring and looks and feels like a traditional bed. The Whisper Quiet drive motors, which are part of a DC system, provide the lifting capacity of 450 lbs. quietly and safely. If the power goes out, the backup battery ensures operation for a time.

Leggett & Pratt was the first adjustable bed maker to offer Wallhugger® capability, which enables the users to put their nightstands right next to the Elite. Meanwhile, the Leggett & Platt Elite Adjustable Bed fully supports the mattress, and doing so supports the sleeper's entire body.

Seven-inch legs come with the Leggett & Platt Elite Adjustable Bed, but they are removable so the Elite can be placed on the floor. On the other hand, casters can be added to the legs and a headbord and footboard can be attached with the optional brackets.

The two variable-speed massage motors, encased within the Leggett & Platt Elite Adjustable Bed, are lubricated permanently. The massage feature can be used therapeutically or simply for relaxation. In either case, it can soothe tired muscles. The massage length is set at 30 minutes. The speed varies in a rhythmic manner, massaging the whole body. The users can also program the massage according to their preferences.

The remote handset for the Leggett & Platt Elite Adjustable Base is wireless. The user can select the one preset position or can operate the head and the foot independently for a personalized configuration. The design is easy to hold and use, the buttons are rubber and easy to find, and when used it is backlit for darkness or dim lighting.

The Elite no longer appears on the Leggett & Platt website, but is still sold by some retailers.
