Leggett & Platt Silhouette
Premium Adjustable Base
Silhouette is the former model name of the
Leggett & Platt Simplicity adjustable bed in its
Designer Series. It is still available through some retailers, and is sold by
Comfortaire, along with the
Leggett & Platt Shipshape, for use with their airbeds.
The current
Silhouette, as sold by
Comfortaire, has been upgraded from the original model. The features are as follows:
• The
Silhouette is powered by the
Whisper Quiet™ AC 110 motor, which
L&P calls "our quietest adjustable bed base motor yet." It was designed specifically for adjustable bases. These motors have a lifting capacity of 450 lbs. The bed can be elevated to 60̊ for the head and 44̊ for the foot.
• The massage of the
Silhouette can work by either vibration or a "rolling wave." It uses dual motors to tailor the massage for the head and for the feet with variable intensity.
• The wireless hand-held remote controls the elevation and the massage. It is back-lit, so it can be used in the dark or dim light. A position can be programmed and saved to come back with the push of a button. And the bed returns to the flat position with one push.
• A safety feature is the
Free Fall Design. Only gravity is needed to lower the bed to flat, handy if the power is out. The base does not fall precipitously, but slowly enough to not jar the user and damage the bed.
• The height of the
Leggett and Platt Silhouette Premium Adjustable Base can be adjusted from 16" to 19" from the floor to the top of the base.
• The
Silhouette can be made compatible with the bedroom furniture. This includes the headboard. Headboard brackets allow you to add the headboard of your choice.
• The electrical system in the
Silhouette Premium Adjustable Base by
Leggett & Platt is modular. Modules can be plugged in, allowing for safer, surer connections than by using wire nuts. This design also facilitates replacement of parts for repair or upgrading.
The
Silhouette carries
Leggett and Platt's
1/3/20-year limited warranty. The first year is fully warranted for all defects not excluded, with no cost for repair or replacement. For years 2 and 3, all non-excluded adjustable base parts are covered, but the customer pays for transportation and service. For the remaining time (years 4-20), coverage is limited to steel and mechanical parts. This excludes electrical/electronic components. The customer is still liable for transportation and service charges.
