Renew Powerbase

The Renew Powerbase for Simmons mattresses is an adjustable bed co-designed by Simmons and made by Ergomotion. It elevates both the head and the feet in a virtually unlimited number of positions within the limits of articulation, 50° for the head and to 42° for the feet. The Simmons tagline for this adjustable base is "Renew your Sleep Experience."

The heavy-duty steel frame is articulated into four sections: upper body (torso and head), hips, and legs (two sections). These are powered by Linak motors, claimed to be durable and quiet. The bed has a lifting capacity of 650 pounds (for each side in a split mattress model).

The base (top surface) of the Renew Powerbase is covered with a "microhook fabric" (like the grabbing part of velcro). This is to keep the mattress from slipping without using a retainer bar.

The normal height of the frame from the floor is 5 inches. For users who want a higher sleeping surface, 2" leg risers are available.

The Renew Powerbase is controlled with a wireless hand-held remote. In a split queen or split king model, each side can be controlled separately with its own remote, raising and lowering head and feet for personalized positions. It has a buttons for a pre-programmed Flat The Flat command lowers the bed to flat by free-fall, gravity alone. This is a safety feature. The Powerbase automatically returns to the flat position if the power fails.

Headboard brackets are provided with the Simmons Beautyrest Renew Powerbase. There are more features, including a massage function, with the Renew Powerbase Plus.

The Renew Powerbase is compatible with Simmons, Beautyrest and Comforpedic mattresses. It is available through most retailers carrying these mattresses. It comes with a 25-year limited warranty.
