Sectional 6
The
Sectional 6 adjustable bed by
Customatic Adjustable Bedz debuted at the
High Point Fall Market in 2012 as the
Flexion 6, sold by the
Hickory at Home division of
Hickory Springs Manufacturing (now
HSM Solutions).
The
Sectional 6 is similar to
Customatic's
Sectional-5, but with an additional foot section for greater flexibility in positions. This extra flexibility makes it easier to configure this adjustable base for persons of virtually any size or proportions.
The
Sectional 6 has what is called a "modular tile" design (see the photos above). The head tile can be tilted forward to support the head for reading or watching television while partly inclined. At the other end, the foot can not only be raised, but can also be lowered into a lounger configuration. This means many more available positions than with the traditional adjustable beds design. The
Wall-Glide feature keeps the user within reach of the nightstand.
The motors and the massage function are controlled with a wireless hand remote (two if it is a split bed). The remote has pre-programmed
Zero Gravity,
Lounge and
Auto Flat positions. The keys are backlit for use in the dark. Head and foot sections can be separately adjusted, as well as upper body and lower body massage. A light under the bed serves as a night light for safety when getting up or coming to bed during the night.
The massage can be for upper or lower body only, or for full-body or wave massage. The intensity is also selectable.
In case of a power outage, the
Sectional 6 adjustable base will slowly lower to a flat position, making it easier for the user to get out of bed.
The
Sectional 6 does not appear to be widely available under that name, and its availability under the
Flexion 6/
iCare 6 name is problematic. It is sold by
Parklane Mattresses of Portland, Oregon for use with their mattresses.
The
Sectional 6 carries a 20-year warranty with full coverage in the first year for parts and labor.
