Sleep-Ezz Acid Reflux Bed
Many people suffer from
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), more commonly called "Acid Reflux" or "Heartburn." It is characterized by a burning sensation in the esophagus and the throat. Among remedies for GERD is adjusting the sleeping postion to an incline, preferably without body bending.
Several, if not most,
adjustable bed manufacturers claim that their products have a position to treat acid reflux by raising the head and chest to get the head above the stomach. Now
Med-Lift's
Sleep-Ezz brand has a bed spcifically designed for relief of GERD, the
Acid Reflux Bed (
AR). This bed stays on one plane while it is inclined, raising the head by an up to 8̊ tilt. Lying on the bed the other way, with the feet elevated, is the Trendelenberg position for increasing circulation.
The frame of the
Acid Reflux Bed is made to the same standards as the
Sleep-Ezz Leisure Bed, up to 600 lbs. lifting capacity, heavy-duty motors, and heavy-gauge cold-rolled steel. The
AR bed has locking casters. Height adjusters are available for those who need a higher bed.
Massage is not available, but it does have seven mattress options, including innersprings, foam cores, and a selection of comfort layers with polyurethane, memory foam or latex.
Like other
Sleep-Ezz ajustable beds, the
Acid Reflux Berd has a lifetime warranty on the frame and a 5-year warranty for parts and labor on electrical parts and the wood mattress base. Labor is covered if done "by a Med-Lift certified warranty center or an authorized Med-Lift dealer, according to Med-Lift's service fee schedule."
