Sleep Number Flex Fit 2
Flex Fit 2 is the middle model of the three-model collection of
Flex Fit Adjustable Bases introduced in 2014 by
Select Comfort under its
Sleep Number brand. This new collection replaces the previous
Flex Fit adjustable bed collection of
Flex Fit and
Flex Fit Plus.
While the
Flex Fit 1 raised only the head,
Flex Fit 2 adjusts both the head and the foot. This means the sleeper can adjust both the position of the entire length of the bed and the firmness of the
Sleep Number airbed mattress. Among features in the
Flex Fit 2 which are not in the
Flex Fit 1 are
Partner Snore™,
Zero G position and a sleep timer.
Partner Snore™ allows one sleeping partner to temporarily silence the other partner's snoring by quietly and smoothly adjusting the position of the head. This capability is now offered by several
adjustable bed manufacturers. It may not work for every person, but it will work for some.
Zero G is the "zero gravity" position which best promotes blood circulation. It is also, for many back sleepers, the best position for the spine. Elevating the legs makes it easier for the blood to return to the heart. And the curvature in the middle of the bed is a more natural sleeping position for the back.
The sleep timer, now available for many adjustable
foundations, can be set to have the bed move to a pre-selected sleeping position at a specified time. This is a benefit for those who forget what time it is or fall asleep reading, or watching TV or listening to music.
The sizes available for the
Flex Fit 2 are Queen, King, and Split King. The Split King bed can take either the Split King or
FlexTop King mattresses. According to
Sleep Number,
FlexTop Design pairs togetherness with individual adjustability.
As with all
Sleep Number products, the
Flex Fit 2 Adjustable Base is sold in
Sleep Number Stores (in malls across the country) and online. Because of its size, it cannot be shipped by
UPS or
FedEx, but it can be delivered from a
Sleep Number Store.
The warranty on the
Flex Fit 2 is for 25 years, prorated.
