Zedbed 5 Deluxe

The 5 Deluxe Adjustable Base, one of the new models for 2014, is an adjustable bed made by Zedbed, a Canadian bedding manufacturer based in Shawinigan, Quebec. It is a higher-level model than the Custom-Z. Unlike the Custom-Z, the 5 Deluxe cannot be used without legs and cannot be used on a platform bed/foundation. But it does have features the other model does not have.

The wireless remote for the 5 Deluxe has 3 pre-set positions and 2 programmable (memory) positions. These are Flat, Zero Gravity, and Anti-Snore. Flat returns the bed to a flat position. Zero Gravity holds the feet level with the heart for better circulation as well as less strain on the spine and legs. Anti-Snore elevates the head to a position shown to minimize snoring for many persons. The keys on the remote are also back-lit for use in the dark or dim light.

The 5 Deluxe also has a massage feature. Called Advanced Massage Technology, this massage is tuned by frequency, adjustable for the best conduction through the mattress.

The legs for the 5 Deluxe are a 3-in-1 design, with adjustable heights of 3, 5½ and 8½ inches to allow the users to select the best height for them.

Wall-Snuggler Design is a standard feature of the 5 Deluxe. When the head is elevated, not only does the articulating frame (upper deck) move to keep the user in reach of the dresser or nightstand, the lower deck also moves to prevent a gap at the foot of the bed.

One feature the 5 Deluxe does share with other Zedbed adjustable bed models is the Whisper Quiet motors. The lifting capacity is 700 lbs, 1,000 lbs. in heavy duty Queen. This model is available only in Queen and Twin XL sizes. For a King size mattress, two Twin XL bases are used, coordinated to operate as one. For a Split King, also use two Twin XL mattresses. Headboard brackets are also available.

The 5 Deluxe comes with Zedbed's 20-year (1-5-20) warranty. It is available through several Canadian retailers and can be ordered in the United States.
