Zedbed, a Canadian mattress menufacturer, is unique among mattress companies in designing and making its own adjustable beds. This is not really new to Zedbed. They began making adjustable beds the year after beginning the manufacture of mattresses. There are adjustable bed manufacturers, such as Reverie and Craftmatic, who make mattresses for their bases.
Zedbed added two new adjustable beds in 2015, the Roby Series: Roby-Flex and Roby-Up. Subsequently they discontinued three models: 5-Deluxe, Z-Pedic, and Z-Motion.
Roby-Flex is a fully adjustable foundation. Both head and foot can be articulated with the typical knee-bend in the foot section. All articulated segments are linked in a continuous surface. A retainer bar at the foot of the bed holds the mattress in place during articulation. The positions are not only for sleep, but also waking activities, such as reading, using a laptop or tablet, and watching TV.
The Roby-Flex is powered by German technology. The Whisper-Quiet motors, said to be ultra silent, are actually built in the United States. They are encased in metal housings and have a 900-lb. lifting capacity. The remote control is wireless.

Roby-Flex is a simple adjustable base, with no massage or any other flashy features. The advantage of this is a fully operational adjustable bed at an affordable price.
Available in six sizes (Twin, Twin XL, Full, Full XL, Queen and King), the Zedbed Roby-Flex is also a decorative item. One of the retailers carrying Roby-Flex in Canada is Matelas Bonheur. The height is 10" to 12" from the floor. It is covered by a 20-year Zedbed warranty.
