Jamison Bedding, which is now based in suburban Brentwood, began as a furniture store in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Founder Robert Jamison used horsehair in making mattresses. Eventually mattresses became the sole focus of the business, and it began selling mattresses in furniture stores across Tennessee and Kentucky. By 1960, Jamison had opened a factory in Albany, Georgia to increase production and expand their market. This plant was closed in 2012.
Today, Jamison not only makes mattresses for the retail market, but also for over 40 years for the hospitality industries, with clients such as Marriott, Best Western, and La Quinta. Also, Jamison is licensed to produce and sell Spring Air mattresses in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
At the Spring 2013 High Point Market, Jamison introduced its English Garden Collection of 8 models to appeal to female customers. Bed Times reports that classical English gardens with their symmetrical beauty inspired this set. Previously, at the Fall 2012 High Point Market, Jamison rolled out its TLC Collection of latex mattresses. Each of the TLC mattresses is named after a butterfly.
Jamison has a Retailer Finder on its website.
