Paramount Mattress

Not to be confused with Paramount Sleep in Norfolk, VA, and Paramount Bedding (now Parklane Mattresses) of Beaverton, OR, Paramount Mattress, Inc. of Los Angeles, California, is a family owned and operated manufacturer of mattresses and accessories. The president is Steve Hernandez. The company is listed as a Latino/Hispanic owned business, and they have Spanish speaking customer service and sales people available in the showroom and the office ("Se Habla Español").

Paramount Mattress's product lines include Specialty Bedding, Comfortline Premium Bedding, Pillow Top/Eurotop Mattresses, Traditional Mattresses (Tight Top Collection), Institutional Mattresses, and Accessories. All the mattresses are either innerspring or hybrid, and are hand-assembled. The springs in both the innersprings and the box springs are made by Leggett & Platt. Some of the materials used are memory foam, gel, aloe vera, bamboo, latex, damask fabric, cotton, and vinyl (on institutional products).

Paramount Mattress says that their mattresses are hand-assembled in their own factory in Los Angeles. They also say that their Comfortline Premium Bedding "Can be made 'Heavy Duty' for heavy-set people (pricing may vary)."

Paramount Mattress says this about their company:

______________

Paramount Mattress, Inc. was started in 1974 in the city of Paramount, California. Business prospered and the company was able to expand and did so by moving to a bigger facility in Boyle Heights just minutes from Downtown Los Angeles.

We are family owned and operated with two generations of mattress manufacturing experience. We proudly manufacture all products by hand using only quality components. Our customer base consists of local furniture stores, hospitals, retirement homes, movie and television studios, as well as furniture stores and hotels in Nevada, Arizona, Northern & Southern California, and the Pacific Islands of American Samoa, Hawaii, Tahiti, etc.

______________

Paramount Mattress, Inc. has joined a handful of other mattress manufacturers in offering Super King size mattresses. These 7'x7' beds are made to order. The buyers of these extra large mattresses are usually the super-tall (such as NBA centers) and people who like to sprawl.

Among other things, Paramount Mattress, Inc. is known for charitable giving, such as donations of mattresses and pillows, and work in the Latino community.

The Paramount Mattress, Inc. has five tabs, Home, Products, Services (including customized bedding), Contacts, and Links. Under "Products" each mattress line has one page with a description of each model in that line. Unfortunately, these descriptions do not include the height, and most do not state the comfort level (Ultra Firm to Ultra Plush), of these models. Some of these products descriptions contain links to Leggett & Platt springs. The ones for innerspring coils work, the ones for box springs and for the company itself do not.

The "Contacts" page has the mailing address, phone and fax numbers and two email addresses.

The "Links" page has links to suppliers of bedding components, bedding information, and community organizations:

~ Bedding Components: Leggett and Platt Inc. (www.verticoil-edge.com), Sleep Comp (Latexco, LLC), Foamex (manufacturer of FXI brand polyurethane foam), Carpenter (manufacturer of memory foam), and Abad Foam (distributor of foam products to the funiture and bedding industries).
~ Bedding Information: The Better Sleep Council, International Sleep Products Association, American Innerspring Manufacturers, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Bedroom Magazine, Sleep Safety and New Flammability Regulations (SafeSleep.org), and Bureau of Home Furnishings (State of California agency).
