The Believe Mattress is one of three Activcor Comfort System mattresses available through Domayne stores in Australia and listed on Domayneonline. The other two models are Achieve Mattress and Refresh Mattress.
The Activcor Comfort System was developed by the American company Blue Ocean Sleep (BOS) and German mattress manufacturer Breckle Matratzen. Activcor mattresses were first sold in Europe, then in Japan. A United States patent is pending, and BOS is planning to make and market Activcor Sleep System models in North America.
The design for Activcor mattresses includes formed-in-place cylindrical "springs" made from the same foam as the support core. These are called "pressure relief columns," because their role is to relieve pressure in a manner similar to the independent reponse of pocket coils. Then foam comfort layers modify the support for the sleeper.
The Domayne description of the Activcor Believe Mattress begins with, "Get a blissful night's rest on the heavenly Believe Mattress from Activcor." This claim is based not only on the configuration, but also on the materials. A firm, resilient base foam composes the support core. Comfort layers consist of gel-infused Talalay latex, standard Talalay latex, and plush comfort foam (most likely polyurethane). The cover fabric also comes into play, but Domayne does not specify the material(s).
A foundation needs to be used with this mattress. A typical box base with a solid top or wood slats needs to be placed on a bed frame. Domayne also offers the Believe Mattress as part of an ensemble, with a base that extends all the way to the floor (in the UK this would be a divan). It would also work on a platform bed. Also, some photos on Domayne show Activcor mattresses on adjustable beds.
The Domayne site specifies neither the warranty period, nor a sleep trial period for this mattress.
