The Advantage Eurotop by Ortho Mattress is the introductory model of O-M's Doctor Preferred brand. According to Ortho Mattress, the Doctor Preferred mattresses "feature thicker-than-industry-standard coils skillfully laced together with quality steel wire into supportive yet economically priced innerspring units." This innerspring design is called the "Doctor Preferred Coil System." The mattress is further described as "ideal for those who are looking for a good night’s sleep at an affordable price."

Like all Ortho Mattress models, the Doctor Preferred Advantage Eurotop is "factory direct," meaning it is ordered and shipped from the factory to the customer. This helps save costs, since there are not excess mattresses to take up expensive storage space. Also, the manufacture of one mattress can be traced back to those who made it, providing quality control accountability.

The "Doctor Preferred Coil System" providing the primary support for the Advantage Eurotop is the reason the company is called "Ortho Mattress," since the principal design consideration is the health of the back, hence orthopedic. The heavy coils are to prevent sagging, the most common reason for sleep-related back problems.

Atop the innerspring unit of this 12" mattress are layers of foam to cushion the firm support of the coils and make the sleeper more comfortable. This foam is certified by Certipur as being "low emission" foam, not outgassing toxic chemical fumes.
