Air-Pedic 800 Traditional Pillowtop Series

The Air-Pedic 800 Traditional Pillowtop Series is the third series of Air-Pedic traditional airbed mattresses sold by Selectabed, a subsidiary of Relief Mart. Unlike Tempflow, Selectabed's brand of memory foam mattresses, Air-Pedic does not have authorized dealers or its own website, so its airbeds are sold only through the Selectabed website.

The 800 Series has the same 6-zone air support system as all other Air-Pedic airbeds. It also shares the same quilted Kool Flow Micro-vented knit cover and 2" highly resilient transitional support layer of Flex-Support foam.

The basic difference among the 12½" high 800, 400 and 700 airbeds is the thickness of the Advanced Memory Foam comfort layer. In the Air-Pedic 800 this is 3" high, for a Medium Plush feel, while the others are 1" and 2" respectively.

An available option for the Air-Pedic 800 Traditional is the patented Airflow Transfer System first developed for Tempflow.

The available foundations for the Air-Pedic 800 are a full-support platform bed (Selectabed has several for sale) or an adjustable bed by one of three manufacturers (Leggett & Platt, Reverie or Ergomotion).

The Air-Pedic 800 Traditional Series is covered by the Relief Mart 30-year limited warranty. The first three years of this warranty are non-prorated. It also has a 120-night Selectabed sleep trial period.

1.Boyd Air Beds

The problem we had with our previous airbed (Boyd) was because I sleep with a low number, the comfort layers got in between the air chambers and the foam rails and caused the rails to bow out. I also felt like I was sleeping directly on the air chambers (not enough/dense enough) comfort layer. The way the Air-pedic bed is designed, the foam layer is in a separate chamber so it can't get between the air chambers and the foam rails. And our 800 series bed has enough foam to be comfy for me. The price is very reasonable compared to the other airbeds that I researched. I hope to be sleeping soundly on this bed for many years to come.

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

Comfort layer customized and includes the air flow system

Mattress Durability: up

Have only had the bed for 7 months, but our previous airbed was showing signs of failure in the trial period

Mattress Support: up

6 zones is great.

Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised: up

I like a softer feel, my husband likes his side firm and we both have what we want. Thankfully, neither of us really care for memory foam (he's very hot natured) and the latex foam and air flow system is great.

Quality: up

So far so good. Time will tell. Zippers could be heavier, but they don't seem to be under any stress at this time.

No reviews found.

We initially had some issues with the pump and one of the bladders. We called the company for support and they walked us through some basic troubleshooting steps. Once they narrowed down the problem they sent me out a new pump and bladder right away.

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

It’s a very comfortable bed overall. My wife has loved it since day one, but I’m definitely more difficult to fit. The company has been great to work with in resolving my problem.

Mattress Durability: up

It’s durable so far but we haven’t had it long.

Mattress Support: up

Great support and adjustable to adapt to your needs.

Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised: up

All the features were as advertised. In fact, I wondered about whether we should spend the money on the Airflow Transfer System and if it really worked, because I am always hot when I sleep. We have been working with the company to customize the foam layers to our comfort and one test was to remove the lower section of the mattress which is the the airflow channel. I can say for sure that when we took that out, the bed was much hotter for me. When we put it back in I could tell the difference.

Quality: up

I think the quality of the foams and fabrics are top notch.
