Aireloom Luxury Mattresses
Aireloom Luxury Mattresses are now designed and made by
E.S. Kluft & Company of Southern California. Aireloom has its own website. Aireloom Bedding Company created high-end luxury beds for the rich and famous for over 40 years. A few years after the founder and owner, King Kaplan, died, Aireloom was purchased by E.S. Kluft. The next generation of Aireloom Luxury Mattresses are designed by Earl Kluft, the founder and owner of E.S. Kluft & Company. They are still hand-crafted, and are touted as "America's last hand-made mattress." Aireloom mattresses are still high-end luxury products sold only by select retailers such as Bloomingdale's.
The Aireloom brand currently lists eight collections:
Synchronized Support,
Natural Luxe Top,
Streamline Luxury,
Hybrid Cotton,
Hybrid Bamboo,
Hand Crafted,
Luxury Latex, and
Halstead.
Luxury Latex has a high density foam support core;
Hybrid Bamboo and
Hybrid Cotton are, well, hybrids; and the rest are innerspring mattresses. The Aireloom website lists at least two models for each of these collections. They come in a variety of covers, comfort layers, and foundations, but all have Kluft's own Reflex™ premium bio-foam perimeter encasement for perimeter support.
The luxury in
Aireloom mattresses begins at the top. The fabrics used include Jacquard damask, Forrestex, bamboo, organic cotton, viscose rayon derived from bamboo, silk, wool, and heavy stretch knit. Several of these fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified. Models also vary in stitching and quilting; many feature hand tufting. All covers meet the federal standards for flame resistance.
The greatest diversity among the Aireloom collections and models is in the comfort layers. The materials and components used include natural Talalaly latex, Dunlop latex, natural cotton, surface modified high density foam, visco elastic memory foam, Aerus™ cool shape conforming visco, Reflex™ luxury bio-foams, latex upholstery, plush convoluted quilting foam, QuiltFlex™ quilting foam, lumbar support layer, and high density support base foam.
Most of the foundations for Aireloom mattresses use wood, a sustainable resource and bio-degradable material. Some are described as "zero deflection" (which is listed as an option), while others have a choice of "8-way hand tied" springs or "140 module." The Luxury Latex, which has the foam core, has a wooden "platform" foundation for more even support of the mattress.
Like the Kluft brand, Aireloom mattresses carry warranties of 20/10 years prorated (most) or 10 years non-prorated.
