Aireloom Synchronized Support

Synchronized Support is a innerspring mattress collection of the Aireloom Bedding Company, a major division of E.S. Kluft & Company. According to Aireloom, the Synchroinized Support mattresses have "unique 'adapt and react' engineering ... natural fibers, hand outer tufting and the comfort of a 'nested' pocketed spring system." They feature hand side stitching, foam-encased 15 ga. pocketed coils, and "heavy foam rails to prevent roll off." Many combinations of materials and features are offered to customize these mattresses to many needs.

There are two Synchronized Support series shown on the Aireloom site, Original Design, Original Lux Top Design, and one model, Sandlwood. However, there are other model names, which seem to vary by retailer. Where they differ is in the comfort layers above the support core, especially in the top. However, the Sandlwood appears, from the description, to be a latex mattress.

The Synchronized Support models have the signature feature of Aireloom and Kluft mattresses, the patented "fill box" design. What would have been a dead-space chamber between the innerspring support core and the comfort layers is filled with upholstery fibers, for example organic cotton, to dampen the "boom" from motion on the mattress. This also allows the coils to interact more efficiently with the sleepers' bodies, making the mattresses more comfortable as well as quieter.

The main support of the Synchronized Support mattresses is the innerspring unit, containing 882 (in queen size) individually wrapped nested coils within the reflex perimeter encasement of bio-based high density foam. These coils are designed and configured to provide more support to the lumbar region of the back. And the foam encasement holds the array of individual coils in place, prolonging the life of the coil unit and the mattress and providing edge support for the whole mattress, including the entire sleeping surface.

The covers of the Synchronized Support collection are made of jacquard damask (some models use bamboo-derived rayon) with Oeko-tex certified Forrestex. These covers are fire retardant, meeting all federal flame resistance standards. The cover of these mattresses are finished with outer tufting, done by hand as part of the Aireloom hand-made construction.

The comfort layers (depending on the models) may contain any of the following materials: Natural Talalaly latex, surface modified high density foam, visco elastic memory foam, Aerus™ cool shape conforming visco, Reflex™ luxury bio-foams, plush convoluted quilting foam, high density support base foam.

The frame of the foundation is made of lumber from sustainable forests. Inside this frame, the springs are either hand-tied 8-way or 140 modules.

Mattresses in the Synchronized Support collection come with a 20/10 year prorated warranty.

Update 2015

Aireloom updated its Synchronized Support Collection for 2015. It consists of two series (Luxetop™ Design and Streamline™ Design) and the Airelooom Comfort Pad™, a topper designed especially for mattresses in this collection. This was not a total redesign, but more of a reorganization and enhancement.

The six SKUs mentioned in news accounts are five mattresses and the topper. Luxetop has three models: Luxetop™ Plush, Luxetop™ Medium, and Luxetop™ Firm. Streamline has two: Streamline™ Plush and Streamline™ Firm.

All Synchronized Support mattresses have a support core of zoned nested pocket coils. These are encased by 2.4-lb. HD foam for perimeter and edge support. The gauge of the coils factors in determining the comfort level of individual models.

Synchronized Support mattresses also share the same cover fabric, a Belgian jacquard damask of spun rayon. Where they differ is in the quilting, which has more components in the Luxetop models. Luxetop quilting consists of Joma wool with high-loft fibers, ventilated Talalay latex with zoned densities, and a layer of Pillow-Flex support foam. This is backed by a knit panel and cotton tricot.

The Streamline quilting is blended silk and wool fibers along with the Pillow-Flex, support panel and tricot.

While Luxetop has more ingredients in the quilting, Streamline has more in the comfort layers. They both have Talalay latex which is ventilated for cooling, plush latex atop medium. Streamline adds Firm Talalay latex beneath the medium.

They also both have a layer of organic cotton and a layer of Aireluxe™ foam. The Aireluxe in Luxetop is plush, while Streamline has both plush and firm. Streamline adds quilted upholstery padding of cotton.

Luxetop and Streamline are also differentiated in the foundations. Both foundations are called divans by Aireloom, a connection in terminology with high-class British mattresses. The Luxetop Divan is 8-way hand-tied coils. These heavy duty coils are 8.75 gauge. The Streamline Divan is a Tru-Flex modular base with 70 modules of 9-gauge coils. Both divans are available in either 9" Standard height or 5" Low Profile.

The Airelooom Comfort Pad™ is a two-sided topper filled with Joma Wool and zoned Talalay latex. One side is covered with Belgian damask, the other with a knit fabric. The user can select the surface feel by which side is up. This comfort pad is held to the mattress by loop straps with attach to buttons on the sides and ends of the mattress.

Aireloom has raised the terms of the warranty from 25/10 to 25/15.
