Amazing Bed (home models)
The Amazing Bed was unveiled by Innovative Standards, Inc. of Lenexa, Kansas. This product adds a new dimension to the bedding market. With the Amazing Bed, mattress and foundation are integrated into a single unit to offer a massage feature which extends into the mattress itself. Current models are offered for homes, spa and chiropractic use, and the hospitality market. Product options include the width and depth of the massager.


The current Amazing Bed models for home use are the sizes available: King, California King, Queen, and Twin XL. All models are 15" high, and all except Twin XL have "two independent powered foundations" for separate control by two users.

The head of the massager is out of sight, hidden within the bottom layer of the mattress, while the motor and track are below (see illustration above). The massager is automatic, controlled by the wireless remote. Besides regular massaging, functions include kneading and tapping. Selections also include the firmness or softness of the massage, head or foot, and the mode (full, upper, lower, zone, or manual).

As said above, Amazing Bed is also a mattress. It is a foam mattress with with a high-density support core and memory foam comfort layers. Innovative Standards claims that their mattress is a premium comfort product in itself: "The mattress itself is so comfortable, that many prefer to buy one without the massage system and immediately enjoy the many benefits, then upgrade to a full function, deep tissue massage bed and the added benefits at a later date."

As to affordability, Innovative Standards implies that a quality foam mattress together with a foundation with massage would cost 2 or 3 times as much as Amazing Bed.

The comfort layers in the Amazing Bed can be flipped and rotated to extend their useful life. The cover is made of quilted organic cotton. Standard sheets can be used on the Amazing Bed—no need to search for special bed linens.

According to Innovative Standards, the Amazing Bed uses little power and is very quiet (after all, it is insulated by all that foam).

The manufacturer's warranty on the Amazing Bed is 8 years for the mattress, 2 years for massage mechanism parts, and 1 year for labor on the mechanism. It is available at select retailers and online.
