Hope Luxury Firm is the firmest model in the second tier of the new (2014) lineup of
Beautyrest Black mattresses from
Simmons.
Hope Plush (6.5/10) is in the middle, only ¼" higher than the
Luxury Firm. The difference in height and firmness is found in the top quilt: The
LF has ¾" of
GelTouch and 1" of
Luxury Firm Comfort Foam, and the
Plush has ¾"
GelTouch and 1¼"
AirFeel Foam.
Key features of the
Beautyrest Black collection are the
Advanced Pocketed Coil® Technology
innerspring unit,
Dynamic Response™ Memory Foam,
Sleep Climate™ Surface Technology and
GelTouch® Foam in the quilted
cover, and
Ventilated AirCool®
BeautyEdge® Foam Encasement. To these, models in the second tier add
Micro Diamond™ Infused
AirCool® Memory Foam and
Micro Pocketed Coil®
microcoils.
The cover fabric of the
Beautyrest Black Hope mattresses contains
Tencel. These fibers, extracted from wood pulp, are arranged vertically (perpendicular to the surface of the fabric). They carry moisture away from the surface. As the moisture evaporates, it cools the surface.
The fabric is quilted with
GelTouch and another foam. The gel foam is a heat sink, further cooling the surface. Additionally, gel yields a smooth and cushiony support.
The comfort layers of
Hope Luxury Firm and
Hope Plush consist of ½" each of
AirCool Memory Foam, a 1½"
Micro Pocketed Coil layer, and ½" of
Dynamic Response™ Memory Foam.
The coils in the
Advanced Pocketed Coil innerspring support core are triple-wrapped. Being pocket coils, the support is conforming and motion transfer is dampened to virtually zero. The coils are 13½ gauge, and the coil count is 850. The
Dynamic Response™ Memory Foam layer is not only for comfort, but is a transitional support layer, adding its own conforming support to that of the coils.
Ventilated AirCool®
BeautyEdge® Foam Encasement envelops the perimeter of the mattress, girding the coil array and supporting the sleeping surface. The venting is to allow airflow through the mattress for cooling and freshness.
The
Beautyrest Black Hope models bear
Simmons' 25-Year Limited Warranty. Although new, it already has wide retail distribution.
