The current Beautyrest Recharge brand, including Recharge Ultra, is the product of brand reorganization by Simmons, the parent company of Beautyrest. It is the successor to the Beautyrest Recharge and Beautyrest Black collections of 2014. Of the four Beautyrest 2015 brands, this is the basic innerspring mattress line with the lightest coil densities and lowest prices.
Beautyrest Recharge mattresses rely on a support unit of individually wrapped pocket coils. With a coil density of 800 on Queen size (850 in the Ultra Collection), these coils (patented by Simmons engineer James Marshall in 1900) respond independently to the weight and shape of a sleeper. This distributes support evenly, relieving pressure on the larger parts (such as the hips) and fully supporting recessed areas (such as the lumbar). Since one coil does not pull on its neighbors, a pocket coil innerspring does not transfer motion from one side of the bed to the other. This reduces partner disturbance so that when one person moves the other still sleeps.
Beautyrest Recharge models have features to cool the mattress so it doesn't get too warm. This begins at the top with a breathable cover. Just under the cover fabric is SurfaceCool™ (Tencel) fiber pile. The Tencel wicks moisture from the surface to keep the top side dry. This moisture then evaporates, with a cooling effect. The BeautyEdge foam encasement is ventilated to allow the exchange of air from inside the mattress to the outside.
The foams used in the comfort layers of Beautyrest Recharge mattresses are engineered to allow airflow through the foams and between the layers. These are AirCool foams, with open-cell structure. Also used is Simmons' GelTouch, a gel-infused foam. The gel gives the foam more fluid-like support and also conducts heat away.
The Ultra Collection adds AirCool Memory Foam. This adds to the conformity of the pocket coils for additional pressure relief.
Available comfort levels of Beautyrest Recharge models are Firm, Luxury Firm and Plush. The Recharge Ultra Collection also offers Extra Firm models. these are also available in several sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Full XL, Queen, King, California King, Split California King.
Compatible foundations for Beautyrest Recharge mattresses include the Simmons Triton Foundation (an advanced design box spring) and adjustable beds, such as the Renew Powerbase and Renew Powerbase Plus.
2015 Beautyrest Recharge mattresses are available through a number of retailers. They will be shown by more retailers as 2014 models are sold out.
The current Beautyrest Recharge mattresses are covered by Simmons' 10-year non-prorated warranty.
