Beautyrest Recharge Candace (Kenosha Place)
Beautyrest Recharge Candace mattresses are the entry level models in the
Beautyrest Recharge Collection by
Simmons. Also called
Kenosha and
Kenosha Place by some retailers, there are three models in this series:
Candace Luxury Firm,
Candace Plush, and
Candace Plush Pillow Top.
The heart of
Beautyrest innerspring mattresses has been the
Super Pocketed Coil support core. These are individually wrapped pocket coils (also called "Marshall" coils after their inventor, James Marshall) with a coil count of 800 in queen-size mattresses. They are 13¾-gauge in the
Luxury Firm and 15½-gauge in the
Plush and
Plush Pillow Top. These
coils respond independently to the weight of the sleepers' bodies. This conforms support to the body contours of the users to relieve pressure points. It also dampens motion transfer, which minimizes disturbance when one sleeper gets in or out of bed or changes position.
The stretch-knit
cover fabrics of
Candace mattresses are quilted with
Simmons' 1¼-lb.
Celestra quilt backing and two 1" sheets of
AirCool memory foam. The open-cell
AirCool foam is part of the
Beautyrest AirCool Design, which has been developed to promote movement of air through the mattress for freshness and cooling.
The support of the
Super Pocketed Coil support core is moderated by
Simmons'
Gel Touch and
Energy Foam.
Gel Touch is
polyurethane foam infused with
gel for pressure relief support.
Energy Foam is a transition
foam which is also used for a firmer cushioning than the softer
Comfort Foam. Each of the models has a ½" layer of
Energy Foam just above the support core.
Luxury Firm and
Plush have ½" each of these foams just below the quilted cover, while the
Pillow Top model has 2" of
Plush Comfort Foam and ½" of
Gel Touch.
The recommended
foundations for the Beautyrest Recharge
Candace/Kenosha mattresses are the
Simmons Beautyrest Triton Foundation platforms (available in 9" Standard or 5½" Low Profile) and
Simmons'
adjustable beds Renew PowerBase and
Renew PowerBase Plus.
Candace/Kenosha models are available through many retailers, in stores and online. They carry the
Simmons Beautyrest 10-year non-prorated warranty.
