Beautyrest Recharge Collection

Recharge mattresses are currently the basic models of the Beautyrest brand by Simmons. There are several model names (Macy's has its own model names) with several heights and comfort levels, numbering 14 to 20 models for major retailers ranging in height from about 10 to about 15 inches. One model name can have tight-top and pillowtop models with 2 or 3 comfort levels for each.

A comparison of Recharge models shows that their covers all have quilted tops with Celestra, a quilt backing used by Simmons, and use AirCool foam. All Beautyrest Recharge models also have the 800 count individually wrapped pocket coils for support and the ventilated AirCool BeautyEdge foam encasement edge support.

The key to the Beautyrest Recharge Collection is the pocket coil support core. Pocket coils (also called Marshall coils after their inventor) identify Beautyrest models among the Simmons mattresses. What sets them apart is the individual response of each coil to pressure placed directly on it. While a heavier, larger part of the sleeper's body is pressing down several coils, nearby coils are still supporting the nearby smaller and lighter body parts. In other words, pocket coils conform to the shape of the body, providing even support and relieving pressure points. And this began before the development of memory foam. The coil count is 800, except in the Recharge Ultra models which have 850.

Another key to Recharge Technology is the AirCool Design, which is engineered to foster air flow through the mattress for cooling and ventilation. Foams in this system are ventilated in addition to the open-cell structure. This system also includes pores cut through the foam encasement and mesh fabric in the side panels

Some of the Beautyrest Recharge mattresses use memory foam in the comfort padding to enhance the contouring conformity of the pocket coils. And some have Simmons' GelTouch gel-infused foam for smooth support with cooling.

The recommended foundation for Beautyrest Recharge models is the Beautyrest Triton fabric-covered platform, available in 9" Standard or 5½" Low Profile heights. Most of these mattresses are compatible with adjustable beds, such as the Beautyrest NuFlex adjustable foundations.
