12.5" Luxury Firm Mattress
Of the six models in the
Beautyrest Recharge Hybrid Collection by
Simmons, three have
microcoil comfort layers and three do not. The highest model in the second tier is the
12.5" Luxury Firm Mattress, also called
Liberty Point Luxury Firm by some retailers, which is also the firmest model with a comfort rating of 3 on a scale of 10. It is also the only second-tier model to use a comfort layer of
Dynamic Response Memory Foam.
According to
Beautyrest,
Dynamic Response Memory Foam, which is an Italian design, "works in concert with our
Beautyrest®
Pocketed Coil® Technology for conforming back support." This
memory foam conforms to body contours, but without "bottoming out." It is also resilient, responding quickly to a sleeper's changes in position.
The 1,000
Pocketed Coils in a Queen-sized
12.5" Luxury Firm Mattress are individually wrapped
coils which respond independently to the weight and shape of a sleeper. Conforming to body contours supports the entire length of the body. This takes pressure off protruding parts of the body, such as shoulders and hips. It also keeps the spine in line, even for side sleepers. An added benefit is minimal-to-none motion transfer. By comparison, with Bonnell, offset and continuous coils each coil pulls on its neighbors.
The pocket coil unit of the
12.5" Luxury Firm Mattress is supported on the bottom by a 1" base pad of
Beautyrest's
Energy Foam. The perimeter is surrounded by a 3" thick
AirCool BeautyEdge ventilated foam encasement. Pores cut through the foam let air flow in and out for freshness and cooling. This encasement serves as edge support for the coils as well as for the sleeping surface.
The
12.5" Luxury Firm/
Liberty Point Luxury Firm mattress has three memory foam comfort layers. The lowest one is ½" of
Dynamic Response. The second one is 1" of
AirCool Memory Foam, and the top one is ½" of
AirCool Memory Foam infused with
Micro GelTouch.
AirCool Memory Foam is open-cell and perforated for enhanced air flow. The
gel is for both support enhancement and cooling.
The
cover is
Evenloft Quilt Design. The
cotton-
polyester cover fabric is a knit which can adapt to the sleeper's positions and movements. Under this is a layer of
AirCool Memory Foam quilted to a backing.
The recommended
foundations for the
12.5" Luxury Firm/
Liberty Point Luxury Firm are a platform foundation, the
Simmons Beautyrest Triton which has a
PowerBeam center support, and an
adjustable bed, the
NuFlex Adjustable Foundation.
This no-flip model carries
Simmons Beautyrest's 25-year manufacturers warranty. The first 15 years are not prorated, and the last 10 are.
