13.5" Ultimate Plush Mattress
The
13.5" Ultimate Plush Mattress (also called
Rialta Plush) in the
Beautyrest Recharge Hybrid Collection is identical in construction to the
13.5" Luxury Firm/Rialta Luxury Firm Mattress except for the wire gauge of the pocket coils. The
Luxury Firm coils are 14 gauge, while those in the
Plush are the lighter 15½ gauge. This is the principal factor in the difference of comfort levels (3.5 and 4.5). No differences in densities or ILDs of the foams was noted in product descriptions.
The primary support for the
13.5" Rialta Plush Mattress is the 1,000-count array of pocket coils about 9" high. Pocket coils have been the signature feature of
Beautyrest mattresses since the brand was created by
Simmons in 1925. Also called "Marshall coils" after their inventor, pocket coils respond individually to the shape and weight of the sleeper, conforming to the contours of the body to provide even support. This relieves pressure and fosters proper spinal alignment.
Around the pocket coil unit is the
AirCool BeautyEdge ventilated foam encasement. The foam rails are 3" deep and are perforated with vents to allow air to flow into and out of the mattress. The side panels of the cover are
AirCool mesh fabric.
The comfort section of this hybrid model has two
memory foam layers separated by a
microcoil layer. These 1,000 1½" pocket microcoils are very conforming. They are also lighter than
foam and allow air to freely pass through for cooling and ventilation.
The two foam comfort layers are 1½" of
Dynamic Response Memory Foam and ½" of
AirCool Memory Foam with
Micro GelTouch.
Two
foundations are recommended for the
13.5" Ultimate Plush/
Rialta Plush Mattress. The
Triton Foundation is a platform reinforced by the center
PowerBeam. It is available in 9" Standard height or 5½" Low Profile. The
NuFlex Adjustable Foundation is an
adjustable bed made for
Simmons Beautyrest by
Ergomotion.
The
13.5" Ultimate Plush Mattress carries the
Simmons Beautyrest 25-year manufacturers warranty. The first 15 years are not prorated, but the remaining 10 are.
