Tranquility Gel with Natural TENCEL is a BedInABox mattress featuring a cover fabric containing TENCEL® and a comfort core of CoolRest® gel-infused memory foam. BedInABox calls Tranquility Gel "our coolest sleeping mattress."

What is TENCEL?
The fibers in TENCEL® come from eucalyptus trees. Besides being a sustainable resource, it is soft, moisture wicking, and inhibits the growth of bacteria. Moisture control is a property of the structure of the TENCEL® fibers. Additionally, no pesticides are used in producing the eucalyptus fibers.


The 3' high comfort core of the Tranquility Gel with Natural TENCEL is CoolRest® gel-infused memory foam. BedInABox claims that this is an "advanced" memory foam. It is made to have an open-cell structure to allow ventilation. The gel is embeding in the memory foam during processing to act as a heat sink, drawing away and dissipating body heat so the mattress does not get too warm. Gel also helps the highly conforming memory foam to be more supportive without losing its conformability.

As memory foam conforms to the shape of a sleeper's body, support is evened out, which reduces pressure points. It also reduces motion transfer and sleep distubance from a partner's movements. BedInABox claims that their CoolRest® gel-infused memory foam is more resilient than previous versions of memory foam, with a quicker rebound which makes it easier to change positions.

The 8" suppport core consists of highly resilient support foam. This is a type of polyurethane foam which contains a certain amount of plant-based polyols, reducing the amount of petroleum derivatives. Like all BedInABox foams, it is made by BASF in its North Carolina plant to BIAB specifications and with their monitoring. This HR foam provides even support suitable for orthopedic use.

The BedInABox Tranquility Gel memory foam mattress with Natural TENCEL is 11" high. It carries a 20-year limited warranty. The Tranquility is sold online directly by BIAB and delivered by FedEx or UPS. the BedInABox™ 8" American Hardwood Foundation sold with it is shipped in easlily assembled kit form. This mattress is also available through a few select retailers.
