Presidential Premium Line

Presidential Collection logo

There are only three models in the Presidential Premium Line, the second series in the Presidential Collection by BIA Mattresses. These are innerspring mattresses with a special height innerspring unit of 600 coils in Queen size. These are 14½-gauge LFK coils, an unknotted, open-ended variety of offset coils. They are referred to as "Special Height" coils, about 6¼" high, shorter than the normal 7" to 7½" for this type.

These mattresses feature BIA's Spinal Zone System. The innerspring has top and bottom perimeter rods. The middle section of the coils has an additional perimeter rod to bolster the area that carries the most body weight.

Like the innersprings in the Economy series, those in the Premium group are foam encased. This enhances edge support for the sleeping surface.

The mattresses in this series are named after President Andrew Jackson. They are Jackson Firm, Jackson Plush (who ever though of "Old Hickory" as plush?), and Jackson Pillow-Top. In this way, their names echo the models in the Presidential Economy Line.

What makes these mattresses "Premium" as compared to the "Economy" models is the comfort materials. There are more of them. One material in the Jackson models not in the Washington and Cleveland ones is Gel Swirl, a gel-infused memory foam. The heights are not listed, but each model in this series has a layer of Cool Gel Swirl.

Ingredients used in the comfort padding in Jackson mattresses include high-density, medium and medium firm Chase-Flex upholstery material; HD, Medium and soft polyurethane support and comfort foams, regular and HD Poly quilting foam, and the above named Cool Gel Swirl. Various combinations differentiate the models.

The Jackson Pillow-Top is about the same height as the Firm and the Plush. It differs in the construction, as can be seen in the photos. The top layer is configured as a pillow top. This makes it not as hard on the edges as on the tight-top models, but without the edge sag leading to roll-offs.

Cover detail

The circular-knit damask fabric in the cover is quilted to two layers of quilting foam: ⅝" of regular weight polyfoam and ⅜" of high-density foam. In the Plush and the Pillow-Top, Dacron (rayon) is added.

Foundations that work with Presidential Premium Line mattresses include box springs and platform beds. Check with the retailer or BIAM to see if adjustable beds are compatible.

Presidential Premium Jackson models are covered by BIA Mattresses with a 10-year non-prorated warranty. they are sold through participating retailers. You can call 1-800-BEDSHOP to find the closest retailer.
