The middle model of Blissful Nights online available models is Peony (like the other models it is named for a flower). At 10" high, it is midway between the 9" Blossom and the 11" Dahlia. The construction of these three memory foam mattresses is similar, the same components in the same order: Air Luxe quilted cover, bamboo charcoal infused memory foam, 100% memory foam, and channel-cut support core. Where they differ is in the relative thicknesses of the component foam layers.
Peony and Blossom have the same top layer, 1" thick of 4-lb. memory foam infused with bamboo charcoal. The role of the charcoal is to wick moisture and conduct heat away from the sleeping surface. The grains of charcoal do not degrade the primary role of the memory foam, conformity to the sleeper's body contours for even distribution of support and relief from pressure points.
The 2" second layer of 100% memory foam is an inch thicker in Peony than in Blossom or Dahlia. The density in this layer is 3 lbs, more comforming than the charcoal foam above.
These two layers are encircled by the Wedge Edge. This is a 3" x 3" foam rail with a triangular cross-section fitted to the beveled edges of the comfort layers. This very firm foam holds in the softer foams, making them more supportive. Its primary role is edge support for the sleeping surface. This design by South Bay International (the parent company of Blissful Nights) is closer to the surface than the support core, which most foam and latex mattresses rely on for edge support. Blissful Nights claims this extends the usable area of the sleeping surface by 20%, and that it also extends the life span of the comfort foams.
The 6" polyurethane foam support core has a grid of channel cuts on its top side. These allow air to flow through crosswise for cooling and freshness. The bottom side of this core has relief cuts where the mattress would bend on an adjustable bed, making it more compatible with this type of foundation.
The Air Luxe Fabric in the cover of the Peony is breathable and moisture-wicking. It is quilted fo fibers and foams for fire resistance and comfort.
Beside adjustable beds, the Peony is compatible with platform beds and solid-top bases. It is currently available on Wayfair, Olejo Stores and Amazon. The Blissful Nights Peony is covered by a 20-year warranty.
