Bodipedic Essentials 10-Inch Memory Foam Mattress

The second least expensive memory foam mattress made by Sleep Innovations for Overstock.Com is the Bodipedic Essentials 10-Inch Memory Foam Mattress. Unlike the Essentials 10-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress and Essentials 8-inch Memory Foam Mattress, this model has three layers: 2" memory foam top layer, 3" support foam middle layer, and 5" base foam support core.

The top layer is 2 inches of open-cell memory foam. The open-cell structure brings the foam to 3-lb. density while allowing airflow to cool the layer. Memory foam is used to conform to body contours for even weight bearing distribution and pressure relief.

The 3 inches of support foam in the middle layer of the Bodipedic Essentials 10-Inch Memory Foam Mattress is to add support and augment the dampening of motion transfer by the memory foam. Since this is not as firm as the support core, it is to buffer the transition for a softer feel.

The 5-inch support core, made of Sleep Innovations' "premium base foam," is to stabilize and support all the mattress above it. The use of three layers and the surface configuration of each enhances air flow for ventilation and cooling. The base layer also provides edge support for the sleeping surface. The company claims it "Contributes to less tossing and turning and more deep sleep."

The fabrication of the cover of the Essentials 10-Inch Memory Foam Mattress is not specified, but it is not removable and spot cleaning only is recommended.
br> Preferred foundations for the Bodipedic Essentials 10-Inch Memory Foam Mattress are platforms or slatted foundations. Adjustable beds are discouraged, since the constant flexing may cause the foam to break down.

The warranty for Bodipedic models is not stated on Overstock, but equivalent models on the Sleep Innovations site are warrantied for 10 years. Overstock does have a returns policy.
