It uses this information to recommend the correct mattress, pillow and accessory product to satisfy those concerns, thus increasing the value of the service, improving transaction value and reducing or eliminating comfort returns."
The
Sleep Metrics system is the result of research which Boyd Sleep Metrics commissioned to use the customers' characterstics and preferences—such as weight, body type, manner of sleeping, and individual needs—to identify the bedding products (mattress, pillow and accessories) which best meet their needs. This research included surveys, pressure mapping, and qualitative analysis. Boyd Specialty Sleep aims to have Sleep Metrics work stations, as well as Sleep Metrics Diagnostics matched to the Boyd Night Air airbed, available and working at all retailers.
Boyd Sleep Metrics is more than just a system. It also includes a product line, the
Silver Collection of latex mattresses. The Silver Collection has four models: Silver One, Silver Two, Silver Three, and Silver Four.
All four models have a natural Stay Pure Lyocell/cotton cover. Lyocell is made from wood pulp. It is a kind of regenerated cellulose which makes the blended fabric more durable and wrinkle resistant. And the "Stay Pure" label means that the cover can be removed for dry cleaning. Not only are the covers of the Silver Collection durable and washable, they are also tri-zone quilted, which means that the characteristics of the quilting are grouped in three zones to tailor the feel for sections of the sleeper's body.
The four
Silver Collection models of Boyd Sleep Metrics not only share a common top, they share a common bottom. The base of each Silver Collection mattress consists of a support base made of channel-cut FoamSpring. This base includes lumbar support—a segment of firmer material close to the center to provide more support to the lumbar region of the back.
It is in the middle where the
Silver Collection mattresses are differentiated. The top layer of foam is made of natural latex, which is antimicrobial and hypoallergenic. This layer in Silver #2 and Silver #3 is channel-cut in a triple zoned manner. The second layer is engineered latex foam. Here this layer is channel cut in three zones in all the models except Silver #4. Silver #1 differs from the others in having a layer of convoluted foam between the second layer and the base. The convoluted foam makes the mattress more flexible and cooler.
