Bragada Crowne
Bragada has been in the business of making mattresses and beds since 1953. For 2010, Bragada’s entry level mattress is the Crowne. The Bragada Crowne bed features comparable materials to the ClassicBed by Tempur-Pedic, but the design is different. Bragada uses a breathable plush cotton cover and a 5.3 lb density memory foam. Rather than use an eggcrate support base to allow air to travel outward from the mattress edges, the actual memory foam layer is ventilated vertically for improved heat dissipation. Another distinct difference is the Bragada MagicMiddle bolstered support in the base layer. This is simply an area of increased firmness to help keep proper spinal alignment for its users.
Bragada seems to have followed the example set by the memory foam mattress leader, Tempur-Pedic, with this model of bed. The overall feel should be firm, but even more so until the surface of the memory foam warms up to your body temperature. Once the foam has acclimated, the area immediately under and around your body will feel firm support, but a very unique contouring feeling not available with other types of foam. The use of Bragada's CoolTemp memory foam, the ventilated foam we talked about earlier, is certainly a bonus for this mattress, and should help to keep your overall temperature on the bed down, but still allow the bed to soften as your body warms the foam.
Per Bragada’s retail website, www.ebed.com, the 9 inch thick Crowne bed is rated by the Orthopedic Research Institute with a seal of approval. This accreditation is easily researched at www.oriseal.com, and seems to mean that the Bragada mattresses have passed standard tests in the medical field. As such, Bragada is currently the only mattress maker with this seal of approval. Also, the Bragada lines of beds also come with an industry-leading Lifetime Limited Warranty. The first 15 years of this warranty are fully covered, while anytime after 15 years you would be responsible for 50% of the current value.
