Two eurotop mattresses listed by Chattam & Wells are the Franklin Euro Top and the Revere Euro Top. These models, both released in early 2016, are innerspring mattresses with dual support cores in a coil-on-coil construction. They also feature the Chattam Quilt in the top panel of the cover and latex in the comfort layers. The height of the Revere Euro Top is about 12¾" and the Franklin Euro Top is about 13½" high.
The lower innerspring in the Franklin Euro Top and the Revere Euro Top mattresses consists of Hinge-Flex Plus knotted offset coils, 450 in Queen size. Offset coils are more conforming than the Bonnell coils or continuous coils. Referred to by Chattam & Wells as connected coils, they are sturdier than pocket coils.
An insulator pad atop the offset coils separates them from another innerspring. This second one has individually fabric-encased pocket coils, 744 in Queen. Called Comfort Core, these are Lo-Pro (low profile) coils, not as high as most innerspring pocket coils. Pocket coils are the most conforming type, relieving pressure, supporting the lower spine, and minimizing motion transfer.
Around the pocket coils is a foam encasement. Called Chattam Edge, this contains and protects the pocket coils, in combination with a portrait edge, this also supplies edge suppport for the sleeping surface.
A third support layer is a 1" high blanket of Joma wool. This high-loft wool from New Zealand is crimped to make it more springy. Wool is also insulating, yet breathable. Besides this, it also controls moisture.
The next layer is Dunlop latex. Latex is naturally resilient. It does not have the outgassing of polyurethane foam.
The top cover of both eurotop mattresses, Franklin and Revere, is the Chattam Quilt. The four-way stretch knit fabric has Tencel fibers. These are extreme moisture wickers. This controls both moisture and temperature.
This fabric is quilted to Joma wool and convoluted foam. compressed wool is a natural flame resistant, and the the high density convoluted polyurethane foam makes this top cushiony.
The Franklin Euro Top has two more layers in the euro top section, Talalay latex and Nano Coils. The Talalay is right under the quilt. Talalay latex is more conforming than Dunlop. Between the Talalay and the Dunlop latex is a layer of Nano Coils, which are very low microcoils (extremely short pocket coils). These help cool the top section, stabilize the foams, and themselves are conforming.
Like all Chattam & Wells mattresses, the Franklin Euro Top and the Revere Euro Top are hand-tufted. This keeps all the layers in line. These models are available through Chattam & Wells select dealers.
